Arnold was born at Kaspar Cohn hospital in downtown Los Angeles, the eldest child of Morris and Ida Rudin. A year later, his younger sister, Rae joined the young family. Arnold attended Manual Arts and Los Angeles High Schools and graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration. He then attended Stanford University in a Master’s business program. He was drafted into the U.S. Army out of Stanford and served as a Captain in the Quartermaster Core and in Military Government; administrating the county of Ludwigsburg, Germany at the end of World War II. He returned home to Los Angeles and entered into his father’s custom upholstered furniture manufacturing business. In 1946, Arnold met Beverly Kline and the two were married on January 26, 1947 at The Bel Air Hotel. Arnold and Beverly worked, traveled and raised their family together. Arnold was a founder and principal of A. Rudin Furniture until he retired in 2012. He had the ability to study designer/architectural plans and to envision, construct and cost out custom furniture to the design trade. He was a vital asset to the production and the growth of the firm. Arnold’s first love was his family. He and Beverly enjoyed world travel and many family occasions together at their home. Arnold was always personally involved with his children and grandchildren. He was a source of great advice, moral compass and a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Arnold is survived by his wife of 69 years, Beverly, his sons Michael, Ralph (Rita) and Jay (Elyse), his grandchildren, Eric (Ariel), Spencer, Genna (Scott), Evan and Lauren (Trevor) and his great-grandchildren William and Henry. He was and will always be well loved and he will always be in our hearts.
