Family Service Advisor


Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary is currently seeking a Family Service Advisor to join the Hillside team in Los Angeles, California.


This is a unique opportunity to work closely with families, arranging their cemetery and mortuary plans before or at the time of need. This position works one on one with our families and requires a desire to provide the highest level of service, ensuring all details exceed expectations.


Responsibilities include providing callers and visitors with information regarding available options, collaboration with other departments in preparation for meetings with time of need families, contract and document research, memorial marker planning, aftercare follow up, CRM software data entry, and other duties as assigned.


This is a customer service position with a non-commission sales component. The following is also required:

  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate with empathy and sincerity.
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, privacy, and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple tasks. Must be able to switch gears quickly
  • Demonstrated ability to act with a high degree of initiative and an ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and a positive, professional attitude and demeanor.
  • Ability to demonstrate company values of integrity, diversity, respect, collaboration, quality, and kindness.
  • High comfort level and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook.
  • Ability to consistently track leads and inquiries to conclusion through CRM.
  • Ability to apply a consultative sales process with a focus on customer service.
  • Ability to consistently and properly use a customer service call rotation system.
  • College degree preferred but not required.
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of consultative sales experience is preferred.


Above all, we are looking for someone who is able to address the needs of the families we serve in a compassionate and empathetic manner, while remaining consistent with our high standards and core values. This position must be able to work on Saturdays and Sundays per the rotation schedule. The hours for this position are 8:30-5:00. Remote work is not available due to the essential functions of this position. Full training and a competitive benefit package is provided.


The hourly rate of pay for this position is $28.85/hour and will increase to $36.05/hour once all training benchmarks have been met.
