Jean L. Cohen- 8-25-1920 to 5-11-2020 aged 99.
Lived just 3 1/2 months short of her 100th birthday. Born and raised in Chicago. Lived in Skokie, Illinois over 30 years, then Long Beach and Van Nuys, CA. for another 10 until the Northridge earthquake in 1994 when she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada for almost 25 years. Spent the last year in West Hills, CA. where she enjoyed the ocean, the greenery, flowers and warm weather. Loved Hawaii, going to concerts, chocolate macadamia nuts, and enjoying a nice long lunch at her favorite Bellagio buffet, taking her time and sampling all the goodies. Will miss her singing herself to sleep, telling stories of the old days, her strength and sense of humor. Proud of her daughters, Marcia and Marlene and encouraged them to always “chase your dreams.” Loved listening to her granddaughter, Bailey, play the violin and other assorted instruments. Loved her dog Princess who preceded her in death by 3 months and was her constant companion. Husband, William Cohen, passed away in 1987 after they had been married 40 years. Daughter, Marlene, preceded her in death after losing her battle with metastatic breast cancer 2.17.2020. Brother, Jerome Hirshman, also preceded her in death. Survivors- daughter, Marcia Cohen, granddaughter, Bailey Cohen, Brother, Sheldon Hirshman (Marjorie), Gail Solomon (like a daughter), nieces and nephews.
