Carol Ann Owens

Owens, Carol Ann. Our beloved mother, wife, grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend, Carol Owens passed away at the age of 75 on March 6, 2018, in Valencia, California. She was born on September 11, 1942 in New Jersey and moved to the South Bay when she was two years old. Carol graduated Redondo Beach High School in 1960, and attended UCLA and San Francisco State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in English literature. After college, Carol worked at a book publishing company in Manhattan, New York. Carol met and married Michael Owens in Los Angeles, California where they raised their two children, Keith and Craig Owens. Carol also worked in the family sheet metal business until she retired. She returned to work in her late 60s as a job placement counselor for the State of California because she enjoyed helping people.
Carol was a true example of kindness and compassion who carried herself with grace and dignity throughout her life. She touched and inspired everyone who knew her. Her love and generosity extended to her family and friends who will remember her fondly. Her life was marked by a love of family, music and literature. Carol was preceded in death by her parents Harriet and Charles Roth, and her brother Sandy Roth. Carol is survived by her husband Michael Owens, her children Keith and Craig Owens, her daughters-in-law Djamilla Owens and Aracely Owens, and her grandchildren Jared, Sophia, Sebastian and Daniela Owens. The Owens family would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff at Sunrise Sterling-Canyon in Valencia, for treating Carol with kindness and dignity. Carol will be greatly missed.
