Skip Farber passed away peacefully on January 4th, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.  Skip was born and raised in Los Angeles in 1952 to Raymond and Josephine Farber.  After graduating from Hamilton High School in 1970, Skip attended San Diego State University and graduated in 1974.  One year later (1975), he married his best friend and love of his life, Karen (Lieb).  Together they raised a beautiful family in Los Angeles and Boston.

Skip was an incredibly successful entrepreneur and businessman.  He ran several companies, and oversaw the development of others as well.  His ultimate dream came true when his son, Jason, joined forces with him in 2008 when they formed Carlin Capital Partners.   As Skip always said, “It doesn’t get any better than this.”  But it did get better as he thrilled in the accomplishments of his daughter, Jodi, who knew more about sports than Skip did (something he loved telling everyone).  Of course, Skip’s four grandchildren were the topping on the cake.  He simply adored Zachary, Sydney, Carter and Sophia more than anything on earth.  Skip never missed a single event of theirs.

Skip and Karen literally travelled the world together.  It was his passion, along with playing golf with his buddies at El Caballero Country Club.  Skip enjoyed collecting wine and drinking it as well.  He loved to gamble, eat well, laugh and hangout with his lifelong friends, especially his brother-in-law, Bob Lieb.  A die-hard sports fan, Skip always rooted for his beloved Dodgers as well as being a great supporter of UCLA Football and Basketball.

Skip is survived by his wife Karen, children Jason (wife Victoria) Farber and Jodi (husband Lenny) Valbuena, Sister Gail (Joel) Weiner, grandchildren, Zachary, Sydney, Carter and Sophia, brother and sister-in law, Bob and Marsha Lieb.

Skip touched a lot of lives through all his endeavors.  He will truly never be forgotten and leaves a legacy of family, friendship, love and laughter.

Funeral services will be held at Hillside Memorial Park, 10 AM on Tuesday January 10th.  6001 W. Centinela in Los Angeles
