Ronald Lee Hillman, born March 12, 1956, in Los Angeles, California passed away on November 9, 2025, in Portland, Oregon.

Ron lived life entirely on his own terms—sharp, curious, and always in motion. Gifted with an uncanny intellect, he could breeze through school exams without opening a book and taught his younger sister Lori to read long before she ever stepped into a classroom. He could hear a song and play the music on the piano minutes later.

An expert, fearless skier, Ron was known for taking the most direct line down the mountain, no matter how steep or bumpy. He brought the same boldness to business, becoming an early player in the time-share industry before working in the residential real estate industry.

Ron had an insatiable love of travel—there wasn't a beachside hotel in Hawaii or Mexico he didn’t explore at least once. In his later years, he found joy at sea, living aboard a residential cruise ship and building a community of fellow seafarers who became dear friends.

Though his health declined recently, Ron remained engaged and connected with those around him. He passed while recovering from a stroke in Portland, where he had made fast friends with the compassionate staff at his rehab clinic.

Ron leaves behind a world of travel memories, friends across the globe, and his sisters, Lori and Julie, and their families.

Funeral services will be held at Hillside Memorial Park in Los Angeles on Friday, November 14 at 2pm.
