May 18, 1939 – April 17, 2016 Justice of the California Court of Appeal, died surrounded by loving family at his home. Born in Los Angeles, graduate of University High School. Mosk attended Stanford University and Harvard Law School. After military service, he was a member of the Warren Commission staff investigating the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Mosk was a partner at Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp. He was a Special Deputy Federal Public Defender, 1975-76. In 1981 he was named as a United States judge on the Iran-United States Claims Tribunal. Mosk was a member of the Christopher Commission investigating the Los Angeles Police Department (1991) and was Chairman of the Motion Picture Classification and Rating Administration that provides parental ratings for motion pictures (1994-2000). In 2001, Mosk was appointed to the California Court of Appeal. He has sat pro tem on the California Supreme Court, where his father, Hon. Stanley Mosk, was the longest serving member in state history. He is survived by his wife, Sandra, daughter Julie Morris and her husband Mark Druyan, son Matthew Mosk and his wife Karin Mosk, grandchildren Noah, Jenna, Samantha and Bennett. Funeral to be held Thursday, April 21, at 1 p.m. at Hillside Memorial Park, Los Angeles. – See more at:
