Richard and I go way back to my first birthday party 7/31/1940. On Comstock in our back yard at my parents Elaine and John Spear home. Our parents were dear friends with Marcia and Fred Weisman Richard's lovely parents. We were childhood friends and friends for our entire lives. We were in touch when Richard was in Seattle and talked many times over the years regarding the LA RAMS and Seattle Seahawks football rivalry. Richard would join my dad and me and go to the LA Rams football games many times over the years. Richard would invite me to Hillcrest for many very enjoyable meals and events. Richard and I went often to Disneyland when he lived in Fullerton. I spent much time at home in LA AS WELL. In fact when Belair fire burnt down our Chantilly Rd home me and my parents and 2 sisters Audrey and Wendy were invited to stay with Weismans. We had nothing but warm family support. We visited with whole Weismann and Simon families for 79 years. We were able to enjoy and learned a lot regarding Art as the Weismann's were terrific collectors. I followed all of Richard's livelong events. My wife and I were long time Southern California residents. 5 years ago one our 7 children and 4 of our 16 grandkids moved to Dallas for a work opportunity and we came to help. These were our youngest grandkids and we were there for all births in California. We are still here. Had some medical issues and getting excellent care at Baylor Medical here in Dallas. It has taken me awhile to write how much I miss Richard and his family and friends. I never met all his family and kids but have stayed abreast to all his life events. Richard and family were like second family to me. Now with our parents both gone and now Richard gone it fells very vacant without him. He was my oldest and dearest friend lasting both our lifetimes. In July I will be 85. My wife Connie will be 80 in August. Richard Rip!!!!!

Richard brought much humor and wisdom with him into the world. In many respects he was an old soul born into a very youthful spirit. The contrasts in him between wisdom and impishness were profound. There will never be another quite like Richard Weisman. One of his great ambitions was to travel space. Wherever you are Richard I hope it Is an amazing adventure. We will miss you greatly here on earth.

I’m sadden to hear Richard has passed away! Richard Weisman was a great man! I didn’t know him that long but the time I knew him he was always outgoing, always wanted to talk about somekind of sports, it’s a good thing my husband was a sports fanatic like Richard. They were always were at it with the sports. He loved his family and always talking about one or the other! He was a proud farther! I remember him always mentioning about how his son Richard Jr, how much they had in common, especially sports! Tookie was his joy, that dog followed him everywhere! I would remember him always calling Tookie his dog from the other room, and here come his Tookie. I didn’t know him as well as others. He was a feisty man, but in heart, a truly loving, caring person, who always love having good company to talk with and have a great time! I was his personal fitness trainer for a short period of time in WA ,I loved hearing his stories, his opinions, and yes he had a lot of opinions. I love hearing about his collection of art and the stories behind them, and to see his son is following his footsteps! Richard will be truly missed by his family and friends, and by many, many people!
