Denise was a real firecracker of a person. If you met Denise, you certainly wouldn't have forgotten her. My memories of Denise most often included a lot of laughing. She had a fabulous sense of humor. She was lovable and endearing. In the last several years I lived near her and she'd come over late at night to hang in the Jacuzzi. Or we'd talk in the late night as she was a bit of a night owl as I am. She would always be getting little gift for my daughter Connie who absolutely adored her. She would come over and play with her. Play games and mostly laugh with her. She had a child-like spirit and it was infectious at times. She always cheered me on in all my endeavors. She was truly happy for any and all of my good fortune. When I think of Denise I also think of her dogs. She loved her dogs and really all dogs. I remember when she got her most recent dog, Chance I think his name was, and how even the best trainers of difficult dogs said it was hopeless. He was too aggressive with other dogs and they couldn't help her. She called me very upset at the thought that she'd have to put him down. But from what I heard, it would've been the only alternative. I tried to comfort her and make her feel okay with that. I didn't want her to have to devote her life to this dog she just got. The next time I talked to her she said she decided she was just going to keep him and deal with all the difficulty that entailed. Why you might ask? Because she loved him.... She was like that. She was a little crazy and kooky, but underneath it all was a huge heart. I loved her and I will miss her and most of all, I will never forget her....... She was one of a kind.
