Phyllis Eileen Steiner, aged 86, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2024. Born on October 1, 1938 in Los Angeles, California to Morris and Leah Pearlman, she was a 1956 graduate of Morningside High School and a 1960 graduate of the University of Southern California. Phyllis married Jerold Steiner on August 30, 1959 in Los Angeles, and they celebrated their 65th anniversary together in 2024. Phyllis’s career in education demonstrated her lifelong dedication to learning. She excelled in both elementary education, including teaching at Overland Avenue Elementary School, and university administration at University of Southern California. Her 23 years of employment at USC included the President’s Award for Staff Achievement in 1995 for service as a dedicated staff member and a loyal volunteer. Phyllis is survived by her husband, Jerold; daughters Rochelle Steiner and Caryn Herbert, along with her husband Robert Herbert and their three children Matthew, Joshua, and Zachary.
