Dear Eva, I learned of Herb's death after his funeral had taken place. Both of you entered my life with perfect timing for me. It was the year that I became a member of FFLA . My very first trip was in 2007, that same year where we went to Israel. At the time, this trip was the trip that I had dreamed about for well over 30 years. I remember that we were in Israel and sitting on the bus waiting for two more people. You two arrived shortly after and when I saw you, I knew that I wanted to get to know you better. And so I did. Eva- I have enjoyed and learned so very much from being in Herb's company. I liked listening to his stories, his quips, his sense of humor, and so much more. He was a teacher and a friend. His caring ways will long be remembered. I'm so sorry for your loss, Eva. Your spirits and togetherness were a joy for me to see.

Herbie, thank you for the privilege of meeting you and your family several years ago at our first Jewish holiday Seder. It was amazing and wonderful time spent and what great memories we will treasure forever and will miss you deeply. We will miss the phone calls and meeting up with you and Eva in Rantoul, Illinois at a restaurant and visiting for hours. Thank you our dear friend for the special memories.

Nona was our son Nick's 5th grade teacher at Mar Vista Elementary, and we remember her and her husband with great fondness. She was an excellent and inspiring teacher. We are very sad that her life and her adventures could not continue longer. All the best and all strength to her family. She will be remembered.

Nona Fein was a wonderful teacher and friend of mine for 20 years. It was my privilege to sub for her classes through the years, and work with her 4th and 5th grade students. The world has lost a beautiful soul, and she was taken from us too soon. My heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and colleagues. -Marilyn Martin

Our family is so sad to know that. My son Yahir was her student. He remembers how she talked about her trips. She was a really lovely person. We'll remember her with love.

Lyo was a friend from the gym. Whenever he was there we would have a chat. He was very inspirational. After all he was always working out. He told me his doctors told him he probably lived as long as he did because of his working out. He always had a story. He spoke of his wife and how he loved her. He once told me he disn't drink much water because after all why would you drink something that rust and rots metal pipes. Alway something to ponder. He will missed. Rest in peace friend. And keep doing the mile. ??
