Melvin Harold Malat passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec 6th at the age of 83. Mel lived an extremely active life. Family & friends were the most important thing to him. A native of Los Angeles. Mel attended LA High School, UCLA & USC Law School.Mel practiced Real Estate Law with his brother Jerry for over 50 years. He was loved throughout the community as he was seen routinely having lunch with his brother in Beverly Hills. Mel was an amazing man who was devoted to his family and friends and will be sorely missed. Mel is survived by his wife, Marsha Cohen Malat of 21 years, his identical twin brother Jerry Malat and his wife Diana Malat. Mel is also survived by his three daughters, Wendy Weiss, Marci Berry & Michelle Good, son-in laws Brandon Berry & Brian Good, stepson & daughter, Evan Cohen & Cheryl Cohen, and grandchildren, Jonah, Brett, Olivia and Ella. Services will be held on Sunday, Dec 10 at 2pm at Hillside Memorial. Donations in his honor can be made to the City of Hope.
