Lois Klein, also known as LoLo to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, died in her home in Brentwood on August 6, 2016, after a long illness. Born on July 13, 1922 to Michael and Etta (Dee Dee) Jacobson, she grew up in Chicago, Illinois. She became a teacher. She married the love of her life Clarence Klein, a pharmacist. She is survived by her adoring sister, Phyllis, her 2 children Alan and Barbara, and their spouses, Susan and Richard, her 4 grandchildren (Steven, Jonathan, Kimberly, and Lauren) their spouses and partners (Lydia, Greg, Robert, and Ross), her incredible 3 great grandchildren Eloise, Carter and Spencer, and her nieces and nephews in the Reback family. To our family Lois was a heroine. After the passing of her beloved Clarence she became both a father and mother to her children and a matriarch to the rest of her family. She was a classy proud individual who dealt with life in a strong and resilient but quiet fashion. She was fiercely loyal and protective of her family and friends. Due to her strong leadership, commitment, and joy for life, her calendar was always full. She was on time, prepared and arrived in style wherever she went. She found joy in simple things such as reading, traveling, spending time with her family, and trips to the Indian casinos. In reflecting on her greatest accomplishment, Mom stated that she was most proud of her family and the closeness she shared with each of her family members, particularly her beloved sister. Her absence will be felt by so many, yet her legacy of family, love, and giving will continue in the hearts of all who knew her. We love you so much.
The family requests donations be made to Cedars Sinai – Center for Rheumatic Disease Research/Osteoarthritis.
