Leonard Borden

DOB: 01/16/1922; DOD 04/25/2017 Beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, Len passed away April 25, 2017, at 95. Married for 53 years to Betty Jean Borden. He is survived by his sons Ed (Debbie) Borden and Ken (Patty) Borden; his twin daughters Jacky Borden Holler and Cory Borden Schwab. Eleven grandchildren Cindy, Michael, Jeremy (Ashley), Alison, Courtney (Jordan), Blake, Jonathan, Conor, Andrew, Aidan, Donovan and two great grandchildren Cade and Emma. Born in Sioux City, Iowa in 1922, came to California where he attended Inglewood High School. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard, as an Aviation Cadet, then transferred to the Navy where he began training as a jet fighter pilot. Len married Betty in February 1947. Len lived in WLA and most recent Santa Monica. Len was a partner in Robert’s Department Stores, a local SoCA retail clothing chain. Len was an avid golfer and a member at Brentwood Country Club for over 40 years. Len was a gentleman who devoted his life to his family and his work and befriended all those with whom he came in contact. We are who we are today, because of Len’s deep and endearing love of life. He was a grateful, gracious soul who blessed us with joy, wisdom, ethics and constant love for which we are eternally grateful. He will be missed by all who knew him. Services Sunday, April 30th, 2017 @ 10 am at Hillside Memorial Park, Culver City/LA, 310-641-0707.
