On Monday, September 14, 2020, beloved father and grandfather, Leon Brenner, passed away after a fierce battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was ninety years young.
Born in Janow Podlaski, Poland in 1930, Leon was a Holocaust survivor. His life story transcended countries and continents. He miraculously escaped persecution from the Nazis at just eight years old. He escaped to Switzerland. Joined the Israeli Navy. Married his lovely wife Bernice and had two wonderful children, Steve and Adrienne. He worked and lived in El Salvador. Opened his own garment manufacturing company in California. Retired when he was 84. Drove until he was 88.
Leon loved technology – computers, iPhones, anything Amazon. He had a passion for learning and discovering new things. At 87 years old, he was taking computer classes.
He loved all kinds of dancing and music. He was a regular on the dance floor at Laguna Woods retirement village.
His philosophy of life was simple: Things were either “good” or “no good”.
Leon would have loved to split a meal with you. Or escort you to the dance floor.
These were “good things”.
Leon is survived by his loving daughter, Adrienne Brenner, son, Steve Brenner, son-in-law, Neil Klayman, daughter-in-law, Erika Cavicante and grandson, William Brenner.
