Karen Sue Paradiso, 54, passed away peacefully on October 7th at her home in Los Angeles after a
brief illness. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend who will be
remembered for her endless generosity and kindness, her love of children, animals, and nature, and her
bright, uplifting spirit.
Born and raised locally, Karen spent her early years in Simi Valley before her marriage. She attended
Santa Monica City College and California State University, Northridge, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in
Marriage and Family Therapy and Early Child Development. She went on to receive her Doctorate in
Psychology.
Karen had a successful home daycare and worked at several preschools before later pursuing careers in
animal care and the delivery business. No matter where life took her, she was known for her
compassion and selflessness—always finding time to help friends and strangers alike with food, rides,
advice, and a comforting shoulder to lean on. Her laughter, warmth, and radiant smile will be deeply
missed by all who knew her and yjose whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas, her children Ashley and Ryan Paradiso, and her grandchildren
Hayden, Kylie, and Charlotte Lamoureaux. She is also survived by her mother Linda Dishman, brother
Raymond Roberts and his wife Tamra, and their children Skyler and Evelyn. She was predeceased by
her father, Raymond Roberts as well as in-laws Michael and Patricia Paradiso.
A private mass will be held at Church of the Visitation in Westchester. In lieu of flowers, donations in
Karen’s memory may be made to the ASPCA of Los Angeles or Children’s Hospital Los Angeles
