Joyce Federgreen passed away at the age of 89 on October 31, 2025 at home with her loving son and

daughter at her side. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, to parents Milton Friedlander and Laura Williamson, Joyce grew up in

Beverly Hills from an early age. After graduating from Beverly Hills High, Joyce attended the

University of Alabama. In 1954 it was in Palm Springs where Joyce met her future husband, Philip, on

a blind date. They married in her Aunt Pinky’s garden in Hollywood in 1956.

Joyce’s daughter, Kathy, was born in 1960 followed by her son, Randy, in 1963. While raising the kids

in Calabasas Park, Joyce worked with her husband in their lighting and home furnishings business in

the San Fernando Valley. In 1983, Joyce and Phil retired to the Palm Springs area. In retirement, they

embraced the desert and the active lifestyle of it and also enjoyed sailing on their boat out of Marina

del Rey and spending time at their vacation home at Lake Tahoe.

Sadly, Joyce’s husband passed away in 1991 from a rare blood disease. With the support and

inspiration of her family and friends, Joyce moved forward to live a full and active life. She traveled

to all corners of the world, loved playing golf, tennis and bridge, enjoyed driving her Porsche 911,

spending time with friends, going to art fairs and shopping. Joyce supported a number of charities in

the desert, giving of her time and resources.

In 2017, Joyce left the desert and moved to Playa Vista, Ca into the Fountain View residences. Her

friends at Fountain View saw her as an influencer and a brand ambassador for the community. Joyce

spread the Fountain View magic in an exciting, vibrant, fun way that helped to bring joy and meaning

to the current and new residents.

Joyce had a love for rock music, art, travel, a good book, food, all things purple, polka dots, and

paisley. She had passion for the NFL, NBA, tennis, athletic men and rock stars. Her free time was

filled with playing bridge, socializing with friends, organizing local food bank donations, and watching

sports on TV. It was also known never to call Joyce during Monday Night Football!

Joyce is survived by her loving daughter and son, Kathy and Randy, their respective spouses, Martin

and Larry, brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Robin, sister Hope, and two grandchildren.
