Jerry was always my friend..way back in grade school and then later in life when he came to visit his mother. Rose and I worked together at Jacobsons and Jerry always came to visit me. I will always remember his warm and loving smile. A great loss of a wonderful man. Love to his family, Pam

I can hardly express my sadness at the loss of your father, Brandon. I met you when you came with your dad to your grandmother's funeral (Jerry's mom). I have been watching GH for many years and enjoyed watching you. I was so glad to have the chance to visit with your dad briefly about years past when we were in Sunday School Confirmation Class together and then later in high school. I only attended the same high school as your dad in my senior year and we didn't have a class together. I see your Aunt Charlene once in a while. My friend, Lynn Joseph Fairbanks, keeps the Class of 1969 graduates informed of any news of our classmates. She told us of your dad's passing last Sunday night. She didn't have any further information until today when she shared a few links in an email tonight. I will reach out to Charlene, I don't really know your Aunt Debbie. I know we are all very saddened by this news and send our heartfelt thoughts to you, your beautiful daughter. Your father was a treasure, so kind, thoughtful and considerate to everyone. He was a true "mensch." He will be greatly missed. Stay well and cherish those beautiful memories. Sylvie Radvinsky

Jerry lived just up the street from my family when we were in elementary school and continued together in school through High School. Jerry was always a kind and good natured person. Loved his smile and his caring nature. He will be missed.

To the Barash family : send hugs and prayers from St. Louis. I was part of the Sysci family that loved Jerry and his heartfelt leadership. My daughter and Jerry had a fun relationship when we had company events. He embraced and was warm to everyone he met. He will be missed......

I had the great pleasure of meeting Jerry at a special event hosted by his son, Brandon. Jerry was so open and kind. It was a real pleasure to meet him. I would continue to see him off and on over the years, sometimes in Los Angeles and sometimes at Sysco San Diego when he would come down for a meeting. He was always so kind and gracious, greeting me like a dear friend. I was truly devastated to hear the news of his passing. Far too young! My deepest condolences and sympathy to his lovely wife Karen, and to his children; Brandon, Jordan and Allison. As nice as he was to me, I can only imagine his delight in his family. Treasure your memories. May his memory be eternal!

Jerry was a good hearted man and we'll miss him. When I think of Jerry, I see him with a big smile on his face after telling a joke. God bless you and keep you Jerry.

Jerry was more than a President to me, he was a patient mentor. He took time to understand challenges I had during a public moment when I was upset about a policy change, and rather than scorn me for my comments he reflected “I can see you are passionate about how you feel.” This was his patient way. Ventura (& I) were lucky to have enjoyed his leadership for over a decade. He will be remembered by me for a lifetime through the many pictures I had the opportunity to snap of him.

Jerry was a mentor and a friend! I spent a couple years working closely with him as his CFO and he reminded me of my own father. He was patient and kind and above all else cared about how he made people feel. It takes a rare and special person to balance the responsibilities and pressures of President and still find the time to put people first. He was a great example of the term "Gentleman" and not to mention a great Poker player. Jerry will be missed and I am honored I was able call him a friend.

Jerry was my neighbor and close friend. He was a gentle soul, loving husband to his wife Karen and father to his children. He was a true gentlemen’s gentleman. He will be missed by all of us who had the honor to know him and call him friend.

Jeff was a founding business partner for our California Canadian Business Associates (CCBA) -- He was a great fellow, always positive and focused. I truly enjoyed my time with him and am very sad to hear about his passing. I have been in contact with the rest of our partners both here in California and Montreal. We will all miss him sorely. -- Most sincere regards --- David Wright
