Obituaries

Mike was my partner on our high school debate team, and his "wit and intelligence" were evident back then, and appear to have served him well throughout his career. He was a cheerful, yet fierce competitor in sports, including tennis, basketball, and ping pong. I had the pleasure of getting together with him for dinner after he moved out west, and he was the same as ever - a great guy to talk with about anything.

A note about Michael's kind heart: At the end of 2018 I spoke with Michael on the phone and told him that I had recently been diagnosed with lymphoma. Michael immediately invited me to visit him in Los Angeles. I flew to LA to see him. Michael put me up, took the time to spend with me, to show me Venice, Santa Monica, and a few of his favorite restaurants, and to play tennis with me. I miss Michael. He was a good friend for many years.
