Irwin Leonard Sitkoff (1930–2026)

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Irwin Leonard Sitkoff, age 95, beloved husband of Sandra, who died peacefully at his home in Los Angeles, California, on April 16, 2026.

He is survived by his children: Steven Sitkoff (Ti), Vicki Ireland (Doug), Sheridan Pidcock (Gary), and Steven Edwards (Diane). He is also survived by his grandchildren Andrew Le (Annabelle), Riley and Lily Sitkoff, Brandon and Brett Ireland, Brittany (Brandon) Garcia, Andrew (Caitlin) and Gregory Pidcock, and Jordan, Zachary, Kylie, and Pablo Edwards. His great-grandchildren include Zoey, Peyton, and Beckett Ireland; Molly, Eisley, Felix, and Penelope Garcia; and Nathan and Sloan Pidcock.

Irv was born in Chicago in 1930 following his father’s move from Odessa. At the same time his uncle went to Rehovot Israel where there is a “Sitkov Street” to this day There are many dear relatives in both places. He moved to Los Angeles at a young age, where he excelled academically and became a proud member of the first PharmD graduating class from USC at the age of 24. He began his career in pharmacy immediately and, in 1962, took over a small neighborhood drugstore in South Central Los Angeles called Florence Owl Rexall.

Over the next 40 years, Irv became a valued and trusted member of the community, serving through both good times and challenging periods. Notably, he rebuilt the store after it was destroyed during the Rodney King riots in 1992

After selling the business in 2006 to a trusted friend, he was recruited by the Eisner Group of Disney fame to work in the pharmacy division of their multidisciplinary health center. He continued working there until the age of 92. During this time, Irv was honored with the USC Distinguished Alumni Award and was inducted into the California Pharmacy Hall of Fame.

Beyond his professional life, Irv loved to travel and explored the world extensively with Sandy. From Outer Mongolia to the Rwandan jungle, they shared many adventures, although he was always happiest spending time with his family. A devoted fan of the USC Trojans, he also supported many of their initiatives.

Irv was cherished by all who knew him. He gave his love generously and made a lasting impression on everyone he met. He will be deeply missed, but his life and contributions have left the world a better place,

A memorial service will be held on Sunday May 3, 2.00pm at Hillside Memorial Park in Los Angeles.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Eisner Health (Click the link and under “I want to support” select Irv Sitkoff Pharmaceutical Assistance Fund) See his video here.
