May 4, 1948 – December 25, 2021 Helen Louise Meyer passed away quietly in her home on the morning of December 25th 2021 surrounded by her children and family. She was the beloved Mother of Steve (Eri) Keros, Rachel (Eric) Slowik and Jennifer (Samuel) Anderson, beloved Grandmother (Nana) of Sophia, Eli and Aleah. Beloved sister of Madeline, Sharon, Esther and Robert. Helen was the widow of Edmond A. Meyer.

Helen L. Meyer (Manning) was born in Los Angeles on May 4th 1948 to Mollie (Sabin) and Harry Lloyd Manning. She grew up in the Fairfax district of Los Angeles California where she was raised with her three sisters and brother. She attended Fairfax High School.

Helen was a patient, loving, and devoted Mother, a meticulous homemaker, and cook/baker. Her passion in life was children. She loved her own children and grandchildren dearly, and she worked with children at Valley Beth Shalom Day School as a teachers assistant for over 15 years.

Helen loved her extended family, siblings, brother-in-law’s, sister-in-law’s, nieces and nephews whom she hosted over the years for many special occasions. She loved to travel, dance, listen to music, take long drives, spend time with her very dear friend Ellie, and enjoy cruises with her sisters. She also enjoyed nature, gardening, and decorating.

Helen found an even deeper meaning to life through studying Judaism, ancestry, and using her innate intuition living a life of resounding faith or “emunah” in biblical terms.

This wisdom guided so many people, and especially her children who always turned to her for guidance over the years.

Her excellent food, baking and hosting are some of our most cherished family memories. Her spirit and the joy she spread in her lifetime lives on. Her laugh, smile, and beautiful grace will forever be a part of her family, and those who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed, but always remembered fondly.

A private funeral was held for Helen Meyer at Hillside Memorial Park on December 28th 2021.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Children’s Hospital or Chabad.
