I never got to say I'm sorry.

Clark was a wonderful trustworthy man that I appreciated and loved dearly. He was probably the only man I truly ever trusted fully. He taught me a lot about critical issues of life and the depth of history and how to appreciate showmanship. I will always treasure our intense and heated intellectual conversations that we had back in the 90s. He was a liberal most often and I was and still am a die hard conservative. He never belittled my vastly different opinions but rather explored my perception of issues. I am so thankful I met him at such a young impressionable age. Clark you eternally developed and changed me for the better. RIP my friend.

Dear Clark, I am so very sorry to learn of your passing. You were always larger than life, a true force to be reckoned with. It's hard to comprehend that you are no longer with us. I remember the first time I ever laid eyes on you, more than 30 years ago! I was a young 20 something year old working as a receptionist for Jim and Mary. One day I saw this large man walking down the hallway toward the glass entry door that my desk faced. The man's shirt was completely unbuttoned, his large belly was exposed, the sleeves on his shirt were raggedly torn off and he was accompanied by a large dog. The man opened the door and he and the dog marched right past me into the inner sanctum of the office, completely ignoring my pleas of "sir, please stop, you can't go in there ..." I'm thinking OMG some crazy debtor just walked right in! I immediately called Mary on the intercom and told her what happened. Mary giggled and said "it's okay, that's Clark our attorney and his dog Tara". Little did I know that day that I would end up working directly for you for more than 25 years! Working as your legal secretary, office manager and right-hand woman was never easy, but it was always interesting! From taking on the state of Arizona; the battle with the state of Nevada; the Supreme Court appeals; the 40-pound declarations; your returning to school, in your 50's, to earn your Masters of Law in Taxation from Golden Gate University. It was quite a journey; you taught and showed me a lot. Clark, despite your sometimes tough and gruff demeanor, you were actually a very nice, caring and admirable man. Thank you for everything you taught me, all of your advice and for always being there for me. The world is now a much quieter place, and a little less colorful without you. I will always remember you fondly; keep on "laughing and scratching". Love, Ann
