born in New York on Augusst 11, 1930, died on July 20, 2016, at the age of eighty-five. Despite being born in the Bronx, he became a life-long Dodger fan after being taken to one of their games at Ebbets Field by his cousin Stevie from Brooklyn. After moving with his parents Nathaniel and Esther Gosch to Los Angeles in 1943, he graduated from Hamilton High School and then UCLA in 1954. In between high school and college he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Nevada as a radio engineer, though that experience couldn’t compete with a short stint as a radio announcer in Phoenix in the years that followed. Upon returning to Los Angeles Harvey met the woman who would become his wife of fifty-five years, Sandra (Narens) Gosch on a blind date. Harvey made a living in the steel business and raised a family in the San Fernando Valley. After retirement he and his wife enjoyed traveling the country and the world, trying new foods and beer, always beer. Harvey was a voracious reader and baseball enthusiast. He will be remembered for his love of history, particulary World War II, his passion for politics, and his flair for telling a good story or joke. Besides his wife, Sandra, he is survived by his son Howard Gosch and his daughter Stacey (Gosch) Schmitt and his daughter-in-law Valerie.
