Gloria (Glo-Glo) Armstrong
“Forever Young”

In the early evening of March 20, 2020, the spirit & soul of my beautiful wife Gloria peacefully and blessedly slipped away to now become forever free! Her husband Robert and son Sander were present during her last moments and were only comforted that she no longer was confined to her earthly mode of transport that had failed her at the end! She had encountered and endured many physical surgeries in her life, but with the help of many outstanding doctor’s, she relentlessly endeavored to persevere, facing and overcoming each new obstacle with the grit and determination of a lion!
Gloria was born August 15, 1932 in Queens, New York. Her birth sign was a Leo and true to the quality, she was a very confident woman full of vigor and energy! Anyone who met her could not help being attracted to her infectious and dynamic personality! Glo-Glo was successful in everything she set out to accomplish with an indomitable resolve and never give up mental toughness! Anyone having to confront all that Gloria went through, would have fallen by the way side a long long time ago! There will NEVER be another the likes of her!
An airline stewardess for Pan American Airways allowed her to travel the world over! At a time when stewardess were considered ravishing beauties, Gloria was the “Show Girl” who would be a “Traffic’Stopper” everywhere she went. In addition to her always coordinated and stunning appearance, it was of no surprise why many thought and assumed her to be a fashion model! Gloria became an accomplished distinguished toastmaster and was a district public relations officer for all toastmaster clubs within the district! Glo recruited a great many people into the organization, and that enriched their publice speaking proficiency! Gloria also achieved the prestigious position of commodore of a notable yacht club in Marina Del Rey!
Her early life was not without its trials and tribulations! But through it all, Glo-Glo retained her positive attitude and as Scarlet O’Hara once said: “Tomorrow is another day.” Gloria never dwelt on the past or lamented about regrets or early disappointements. She was such a generous soul who was a warm and giving person always willing to help others and offering encouraging advice!
She described the last 20 years with Robert as the best years of her life on earth! Her life motto was “Forever Young.”
That is how she looked, that is how she thought and she will be always remembered as living life – “Her Way”!!
She leaves behind a son, Sander; his wife Christy, two grandchildren Bella and Lucas and sister Anne, plus long time best friends Lila Zimmerman, Richard Peck, Richard Schachter and Pat Madden, plus many extended family loved ones.
