Gail Weiner passed away just before midnight on July 13th, 2025. Gail was born in 1947 to Raymond and Josephine Farber and raised in Los Angeles. After graduating from Hamilton High School in 1965, Gail attended University of California Berkeley and graduated in 1969. In 1969 Gail married Joel and this past December they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. Gail lived in Honolulu from 1974 until 2018 when she returned to Los Angeles.

After relocating from Lansing, Michigan to Honolulu, HI Gail threw herself into pottery and started an artisan business, selling her pots and other wares at local craft fairs. A highlight and favorite story of hers was appearing, as a potter, in a Hawaii Five-0 episode. Gail was a dynamo Realtor. During her 40 years in the industry, year-after-year she would devise creative campaigns to market herself.

Gail had a wide range of interests and passions including ballet, horticulture, baking, reading and traveling. Elated by the arrival of her first grandchild and becoming a grandparent, Gail wrote and published (illustrated by close and lifetime friend Pat Simons) a children’s story book, ‘Hannah’s Gecko’. As a grandmother, Gail enjoyed playing card and board games, especially the board game ‘Sorry’ with her grandkids Hannah and Lucas.

Gail is survived by her husband Joel, children Matt (wife Stephanie) and Rich (wife Julie), grandchildren Desi, Hannah and Lucas; niece Jodi Valbuena, nephew Jason Farber and sister-in-law Karen Farber.

Rather than send flowers, it would mean the world to Gail and her family if that money went towards a cause committed to winning the war on Parkinson’s disease. A couple suggestions for donations are: The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or The Parkinson’s Foundation.
