Elise Sinay Spilker Profile Photo

Days after celebrating her 77th birthday, Elise Sinay Spilker lost her almost seven-year battle with ovarian cancer. Her passage, like her life, was meaningful, full of charm, and touching. She accepted her death with the same grace that defined her life. She was born and raised in Los Angeles to adoring parents Barbara Mott and Joseph Sinay. It is there where she also made lifelong friends, married, and raised her two daughters, Audrey and Joanna. Sadly, her first husband, Andrew, passed while she was very young. She went on to marry William F. Sater with whom she happily shared nearly half of her life. Her extraordinary kindness and warmth were felt by all who knew her. She leaves behind husband William, daughters Audrey (Dror Ambar) & Joanna, sister Nancy (Howard Sunkin), and a throng of younger generations who will always know and love her as Auntie Lisie. Her passage leaves a gap in our hearts which we hope that our shared love and time will heal. In lieu of flowers, we are grateful for donations in her honor to Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance or wherever you are so moved to support. She will live on in us.
