It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Dean Rostovsky. Dean passed away at home surrounded by family and friends at the age of fifty-two.

Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Dean immigrated with his parents Ivan and Janet Rostovsky and sisters Kim (Harizman) and Leeann (Silver) to San Diego, California in 1980.  Following his graduation from La Jolla High School, Dean attended the University of California, Berkeley. Dean later moved to New York City where he worked in real estate investment banking, prior to attending Columbia University School of Business where he received a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Upon graduation, Dean joined former colleagues from Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) at ING Clarion and eventually moved to Los Angeles to head Clarion’s West Coast office where he ultimately served as Managing Director and the Co-Head of National Acquisitions.

Dean was first and foremost a devoted family man.  He is survived by his wife Meghan, children Sasha and Sam, mother Janet, and sisters Kim and Leeann, all of whom he deeply loved.  Dean loved music and sports (in particular, Liverpool F.C.), but was brought his greatest joy by his wife and children.

Dean was a man of great character and dignity who was a role model for many, both personally and professionally, and was respected by all who knew him.  He will be remembered by all whose lives he touched for his patience, humility, integrity, dedication to the things that mattered most, and gentle sense of humor.

His family and friends take comfort in knowing how meaningful an impact he made in their lives and the lives of others.

He is loved and will be missed.

Services to celebrate the life of Dean Rostovsky will be held at Temple Israel of Hollywood on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. Friends, family, and members of the community are invited to come together to remember and pay tribute to this remarkable man who made a lasting impact on all of us. Live stream information will be forthcoming.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Cancer Research Institute or American Association for Cancer Research in memory of Dean Rostovsky.

May his memory be a blessing.
