David - you were a trusted colleague and a dear friend. I was lucky to travel around the world with you, working for our clients. You made every situation a safe place. I’ve never met a man with a bigger heart than you. Sunny and Aaron, I am so very sorry for your loss. David is gone far too soon. May blessings surround his spirit forever.

There are a few people in your life, aside from parents, that you can point to and say they made a direct impact on your life. David was one such person. You changed the course of my life for the better. You helped me navigate the path of being an international expat by taking me out of my comfort zone and dragging me across the world to China. You are the reason my world was turned upside down and inside out. You gave advice, wisdom, and friendship to a kid thrown into the deep end. I will miss you David.

I will always remember the first time I met David and Aaron, when they first came to visit Ojai Valley School, looking for a new school environment upon their move from Beijing. David and Aaron were a great team, even then, full of wit and candor, and when I met Sunny it was clear her warmth and intellect completed their brilliant family circle. Generous, joyful, caring and supportive. That is how I will remember David — a smiling father beaming with pride. He will be missed by so many who had the privilege of knowing him.

My sincere condolences to Sunny, Aaron, and all those impacted by David's passing. I vividly recall first speaking with David in December 2013, prior to joining Allison+Partners in 2014 to start the Singapore office. His sharp humour, strategic mind, wisdom and deep knowledge of Asia instantly won me over, and I knew then that he was someone from whom I could truly learn. David played a crucial role in supporting the Singapore team in our early days, providing guidance on proposals that won us our first few clients. He was generous with his time, flying in to meet our first clients and support media training when we were just a tiny team of three. We bonded over local meals of Indonesian food and Hainanese chicken rice and spoke on a wide range of topics from his love for photography, books, Scouts, Chinese culture and most of all, Sunny and Aaron. In all our interactions, he never failed to provide a few inspiring quotes. David was a gentle giant, and his legacy and impact will be greatly missed. He touched many lives and will always be remembered for his wisdom and generosity.
