It is with incredibly deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved David Landau.

David passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 53 years old after a courageous two-year battle with brain cancer, glioblastoma.  He passed away peacefully in his Los Angeles home surrounded by his long-time partner Christina Harmon and his loving father Ellis and sister Rachel.

David was born in Phoenix, Arizona on September 11, 1971 to Ellis and Kathleen (Thomas) Landau. As a child, David enjoyed soccer, summer camp, drum lessons, family vacations to visit relatives in Philadelphia, and his mother’s delicious meals.  As a teenager, he became interested in movies and music of all types.

David attended college in Washington DC, graduating from George Washington University with a degree in business.  After graduation, he moved to Los Angeles because he loved the ocean and to pursue a career in the music industry.

After starting at Steven J. Cannell productions, he joined the prestigious William Morris Agency.  While at William Morris, he received an offer to assist managing the band the Red Hot Chili Peppers, which he did for many years.  David left the music industry to pursue a career in commercial real estate, working with 20th Century Fox and Ramsey Schilling/Avison Young commercial real estate.

In 2019, David moved to Las Vegas to join W.A. Richardson Builders where he worked on the building of Resorts World Las Vegas, Durango Station and the Summit Clubhouse Discovery Property.  His career changes exemplify his diverse interests and adaptability.

David was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Kathleen Landau and pets Rocky, Alfie, Obi, Kiki, and Snowy.

He is survived by his long time best friend and partner, Christina Harmon, father Ellis Landau, stepmother Yvette Landau, sister, Rachel Landau, brother-in-law, Joe Ersek, and their children, Ben, Evie, and Grace, along with his much loved cat, Grayson.

David loved animals (especially cats), sports (especially the Dodgers) and politics.  He just missed seeing the Dodgers win the World Series.

He will be remembered by all who knew him as a caring, kind and empathetic person who never said a negative word about anyone.  May we all learn to be a little more like David.

We love you David.

David was a life-long animal lover ~ and particularly fond of cats.

If you are inclined to do something in remembrance of David, please consider a donation to the Los Angeles Pet Adoption Center/Best Friends Animal Society, bestfriends.org/los-angeles or your favorite animal charity.
