Connie Goodrich (Bletz) was born in Los Angeles,California, on September 21, 1923, and lived there until her passing on May 17, 2018. She was 94 years old.
Living up to her Angeleno roots, Connie was the epitome of style and class. She loved shopping for the latest trends and wore her hair in her glamorous signature French twist. She worked in the entertainment industry as a young woman, then served as a homemaker for most of her adult life. She met and married Fred Goodrich and was married to him for more than 50 years until his passing in 2017. Fred worked as an engineer, and later, computer teacher, and they made their home on Mulholland. Its central location between the city and valley allowed them to frequent both areas freely, and they had favorite restaurants and shops in both places as well as friends and family.
Connie and Fred were fixtures everywhere they went. From restaurants and department stores to the beauty shop and Gelson’s, everyone knew their names and what they liked. Known for her simple appetite, Connie enjoyed peaches and cottage cheese so much at Walter’s in Beverly Hills that the restaurant named the item after Connie. Connie and Fred had hearts of gold, and won the hearts of their longtime neighbors. They developed a vibrant community of friends who respected, loved and cared for each other.
Connie devoted her life to her home and family – her husband, Fred, parents Ann and Sam, brother Alan, sister-in-law Clara and a host of cousins whom she viewed as part of her immediate family. She was vivacious, charming, gracious, and loved to travel. Everyone who knew her loved her, and she was always honored and blessed to be in the company of others.
