Obituaries

Jake Brookstein, Barry's Grandfather, was married to my Grand Aunt, Dora Miller. When Barry's Father, Harry, went into the Insurance business he shortened the name to Brooks. Barry without a doubt was "The most beautiful child I ever saw" even though I was only 7 years older than he. There was a time when my family was very close to the Kaplan sisters, and Dorothy & Harry. I remember when Harry & Dorothy moved to the other side of Robertson Blvd. which at that time was considered moving out of the city and into the countryside. I never kept in contact with Barry but I did come in contact with Bobie one time after Harry died, in Palm Springs. Please accept my sentiments and hope you will call me Tele.# 805-985-8950

So sorry for your loss. My love goes it to Rachel and the rest of the Brooks family. From what I've heard, Barry was a wonderful man/father/husband/grandfather filled with life and lots of love to give. Again, my deepest condolences. Love, Mike Kramer

I'm very sorry to hear of Barry's passing. He taught me (and others) so much when I was just starting out. He had a real passion for our business and a very wicked laugh! To the Brooks family, my condolences.
