Barbara Ellen Gollin died on May 5th, 2025 at the age of 93 after a short battle with lung cancer. She was born to William and Gladys (Pierce) Dial on December 24th, 1931 and raised alongside her five siblings on a farm in Decatur, Illinois. She spent her early years working as a model and a ticketing agent for American Airlines; a job she felt honored to have. Her zest for life led her to Los Angeles, where she met her forever love, Sheldon, at a stoplight. They spent many happy years traveling the world together and collecting art. Barbara was a devoted Lakers and Dodgers fan as well as a staunch advocate for the arts. She was a proud supporter of The Center Theater Group and spent her free time volunteering at The Getty Center for over 25 years. To those she was closest to, she was Bobbie: a quick-witted, charming, and adventurous person who held herself with utmost elegance and pride. She commanded a room with her phenomenal sense of humor and fierce support for those she loved. Barbara was lucky late in life to have the companionship of Ron Goldfarb, who brought so much joy back to her. If you were lucky enough to know her, you know how fabulous of a woman she was. And just how much "fabulous" feels like too small of a word. She will be deeply missed. Barbara is survived by her three daughters: Julie (Eric Blau), Jaime (Chris Vane), and Kim (Jim Brooks) and her six grandchildren Kevin (Molly Blau), Lauren (Calum d’Oelsnitz), Kyle (Chiara Vane), Jessie, Haley, and Jennifer. She was thrilled to meet her great granddaughter, Sophie, last year. Gifts and donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
