Barbara F Edson

Barbara Edson, more lovingly known as Bobbi, Mom and Nana, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2017 at the age of 85. Bobbi was active and independent to the final moments of her vibrant life. She was graced through love from her family and enduring and cherished friendships. Years after retirement, “Nurse Bobbi” is still remembered fondly by patients and colleagues as a devoted registered nurse. She practiced inpatient pediatric nursing for more than 40 years.

Bobbi was married to David Edson in 1955 until his death in 2005. She is survived by three loving daughters, Lisa Edson from Mill Valley, Cindy Libby from Los Angeles, and Dori Boyles from Aromas. Cindy and her husband John have three of Bobbi’s five devoted grandchildren – Michael, Matthew and Maddie – and Dori and her husband Chuck have two, Jake and Josh.

Bobbi’s interests were wide: an avid bridge player, literacy volunteer, exercise enthusiast, and world traveler. She loved her hometown of Villa Park, California. She was proud of being one of the earliest members of the Villa Park Beautification League, and the tall trees along Taft Avenue – which she helped to plant as saplings – welcome passersby to this day.

Blessed with an adventurous spirit, Bobbi welcomed life with open arms. Her warm energy and radiant smile will be carried forever in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to your favorite charity.
