Adele Phyllis Freedman Cole was laid to rest on Tuesday,May 24, 2016 at Hillside Memorial Park at 1:00 PM beside to her beloved husband of 55 years, Leonard, who passed away in 1997. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 20, 1920, she graduated from Glenville High School and attended the Ohio State University. She is survived by her three children, Gary (Claudette), Robert (Nanci), and Linda (Steve); five grandchildren, Brian, Matthew, Daniel, Kimberly and David; and two great grandchildren, Jasmine and Alexander. She loved working with Leonard in their orthodontic office in Long Beach, California where she made a special effort to hide the fact that she was married to the boss. After Leonard’s death, she continued to swim 2-3 times a week at the local YMCA and was a fixture at neighborhood block parties near her Hollywood Riviera home. The final two years of her life were difficult but she continued to demonstrate her indomitable spirit. We will miss those vibrant blue eyes and her wisdom as well as the many delicious meals she lovingly prepared for her family. Later in the year we will celebrate her life at a memorial service at Temple Menorah in Redondo Beach.
