A: Cemetery is the burial space and includes such things as the rights to inter, opening and closing the grave, endowment care, markers or plaques, etc.

Mortuary is the funeral service and includes such things as preparation of the remains, the funeral service, the casket or urn, death certificates, etc.


A: It relieves stress during the time of grief; it ensures your wishes are carried out; it is a compelling component of estate planning.


A: Prices for cemetery and mortuary are guaranteed on anything that is purchased and paid in advance. Not all services may be purchased in advance (permits, death certificates, flowers, limousines, etc.).


A: Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary facilitates cremations – it does not own or operate a crematory. Hillside contracts with reputable, licensed crematories in the Los Angeles area. Hillside management inspects all contracted crematories.


A: Non-Jewish spouses and registered domestic partners are eligible for burial at Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary.


A: Hillside offers single/companion ground spaces, single/companion wall crypts, family estates, sarcophagi, columbaria, niches and urn gardens. Our experienced counselors will assist you in making the right decision for your family.
