Field Crew Associate

Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary is currently seeking a highly motivated Field Crew Associate to join the Hillside team in Los Angeles, California. Responsibilities include but are not limited to set-up and closing of graves and mausoleum wall sites. Assisting visitors in the park with the trimming and cleaning of memorial markers along with memorial marker installation. Assist rabbis and funeral directors during funeral services. Additional responsibilities include washing down sidewalks and wall mausoleums, sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning of flower stations and picking up debris from various areas of the park, property maintenance, landscaping maintenance, grounds work and assisting with other maintenance tasks when needed. Other duties may include picking up parts and materials as needed from outside vendors and interacting with families and visitors of Hillside.

  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate with empathy and sincerity.
  • Backhoe and tractor operation experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience with hand-held power tools, light equipment and two-way radios preferred.
  • A minimum of one year relevant experience preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean DMV record.
  • Strong ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Positive, professional attitude and demeanor.
  • Must pass a basic physical and drug test post-offer.
  • Must pass a lifting test of 100 lbs. and be able to lift, push and pull 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time and access all areas of the park.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend and stand on scaffolding or climb ladders up to 25 feet.

This position must be able to work Sundays with a rotating schedule and be able to work outside in all types of weather.

This position is scheduled to work 8:30 a.m. -5:00 p.m.

 


Family Service Advisor

Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary is currently seeking a Family Service Advisor to join the Hillside team in Los Angeles, California. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with families, arranging their cemetery and mortuary plans before a time of need. This position works one on one with our families and requires a desire to provide the highest level of service, ensuring all details exceed their expectations. Responsibilities include providing callers and visitors with information regarding options available, collaboration with other departments in preparation for meetings with time of need families, contract and document research, memorial marker planning, aftercare follow up, CRM software management, and other duties as assigned.

  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate with empathy and sincerity.
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, privacy and confidentiality.
  • Must have high comfort level and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple tasks. Must be able to switch gears quickly.
  • Demonstrated ability to act with a high degree of initiative.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Positive, professional attitude and demeanor.

This position must be able to work Saturdays and Sundays per the rotation schedule.
